Because while Andrew may not want to scare you, that doesn't mean he won't.

Lost Angels returns for another night of darkly amusing original one-act plays at The Elysian theater. This edition tackles morality, religion, immigration policies, and more angst and anxiety amidst a growingly uncertain and chaotic contemporary world.

Live-directed by Cirque Du Soleil front man John Gilkey (“Brilliant” - LA Times), the modern clown ensemble, Cruel Babes, invites the audience into a fever dream of physical comedy and extended absurdist composition for a new and once-in-a-lifetime ride each month. Featuring ten top performers, it is a direct descendent of the underground hit, Wet The Hippo – the show that kicked off LA’s modern clown scene back in 2012.

Retrospecs (In-Person & Video on Demand)
Back in the early days of television (the 1990s), writers hoping to break in would write episodes of existing shows; these "spec" scripts were never meant to be produced, only to serve as samples for the aspiring writer. Spec scripts have gone out of fashion, but, in addition to being a great way to learn the craft, they were a lot of fun! In Retrospecs, we dig those old scripts by established writers out of their drawers and expose them to the warm light of the Elysian stage. Starring actors you know and love from TV, film, comedy, and the stage.

Love Chicken: A New Musical Reading (Joy Who Lived)
Love Chicken is a new musical romcom about a non-binary love triangle with book by Maddox Pennington and songs by Laser Webber and Tony Gonzales. Longtime friends Yan and Lolo are planning a weekend getaway for their queer chosen family—including hot bartender Max—which is thrown off by an appearance by Yan's (ex?)husband Dave. Lolo and Yan unearth buried feelings and have to choose which relationships are worth fighting for and which have run out of road.

Live-directed by Cirque Du Soleil front man John Gilkey (“Brilliant” - LA Times), the modern clown ensemble, Cruel Babes, invites the audience into a fever dream of physical comedy and extended absurdist composition for a new and once-in-a-lifetime ride each month. Featuring ten top performers, it is a direct descendent of the underground hit, Wet The Hippo – the show that kicked off LA’s modern clown scene back in 2012.

A brave and humble ensemble of clowns, led by an even braver and twice as humble director, Paul Schlesinger, bring their most dramatic acting and heartfelt singing to stir the audience into a frenzy of emotion on a high-stakes riverboat casino.
