The Elysian is a nonprofit theater on L.A.'s east side where you will find cutting-edge comedy and genre-bending performances every day of the week. With a mission to foster and promote bold new work from emerging and established artists, the Elysian also hosts classes and workshops, artist residencies, work-in-process initiatives, genre-clashing collaborations, The Spaghetti Festival of new ideas, and more.

  • VISION: Our vision is to contribute to the modern landscape of exciting and impactful performers, helping artists discover and strengthen their voice within an environment that encourages experimentation. We want our theater to be an vibrant and inclusive space where audiences want to stay awhile, and can expect to walk in any night of the week to see unfiltered and unsanitized hilarity, along with gutsy, galling, emotive, surprising stuff. A theater of yes over no, where there will be hits and there may be misses, but never boredom.

AGE LIMIT: Shows are all ages, but please be aware that many shows incorporate 18+ content and language. Attend shows at your own discretion, and please email hello@elysiantheater.com if you have any questions about a particular show.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY: The performance room is wheelchair accessible and we have access to an accessible bathroom. The stage can be made wheelchair accessible with advance notice.

STANDBY TICKETS: We begin a standby list 30 minutes prior to showtime for sold out performances. By showtime (or 10-15 minutes after), we will inform the standby list if we can get them in seated or standing room. Though there is no guarantee, we try to get most people in!
