The Elysian is a nonprofit alt-comedy theater on L.A.'s east side and a destination for the bold and boundary-pushing live comedy and performance, every day of the week across three spaces. With a mission to foster and promote experimental and transgressive new work from both established and emerging artists, the Elysian also hosts work-in-process shows, classes and workshops, development initiatives like The Spaghetti Festival of new ideas, genre-clashing collaborations, and more.

VISION: Our vision is to advance the contemporary culture of comedy, both in live theater and beyond, by giving performers the space to radically experiment, helping them discover and strengthen their voice. We seek to be a creative incubator in Los Angeles that offers a respite from the pressures and expectations of the film and television industry. Our philosophy is that when artists have the freedom and encouragement to safely develop material with a game and supportive audience that embraces original, innovative material, a higher quality of new ideas are unleashed.
AGE LIMIT: Shows are all ages, but please be aware that many shows incorporate 18+ content and language. Attend shows at your own discretion, and please email hello@elysiantheater.com if you have any questions about a particular show.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY: The performance room is wheelchair accessible and we have access to an accessible bathroom. The stage can be made wheelchair accessible with advance notice.
STANDBY TICKETS: We begin a standby list 30 minutes prior to showtime for sold out performances. By showtime (or 10-15 minutes after), we will inform the standby list if we can get them in seated or standing room. Though there is no guarantee, we try to get most people in!
