CLASS:

Saturday 3/25 from 6PM - 8PM

Sunday 3/26 from 12PM - 4PM

The workshop is for performers, comedians, clowns and artists of all genres who are searching to create new characters or connect to the existing ones in a deeper and more authentic way. The workshop is open to all levels.

Most of us live like numb mushrooms, half of the brain on the phone another in the ass. Then when we want to create risky - vibrant - electric characters— all that comes out is some silent warm fart.

The truth is that we are filled with characters, voices, idiocincraciers. However our brains are so overloaded these days that to reach it we need some seriuous tools.

This workshop offers exactly that:

How can we build, develop and connect to the character using primarily our bodies and a light state of trance (!) YES alternate states such as trance and psychedelic state has been used for decades by Japanese physical theater masters who have blended Stanislavsky’s method acting with Eastern Bioenergetics. Only in our workshop we will add elements of clowning and action theater.

Flush those mushrooms down the toilet! We are going on a real trip!

ABOUT CLOWNS ON ACID MODULE 3: Are You Tripping or Are You In Character?

DAY ONE: SAT 03/25 FROM 6PM-8PM

A workshop at sunset on a mountain in Santa Monica. Where you will meet your inner animal. This work is not to be confused with some ecstatic dance nonsense — its fun, absurd, psychedelic BUT ALSO rigorous and systematic technique to open the parts of the psyche that are usually non active: primal, instinctual states; learning to trust your impulses — those parts of the brain that helps us to take more risk and to be more authentic.

DAY TWO: SUN 03/26 FROM 12PM - 4PM

We will meet at The Elysian theater where we will be exploring Western and Eastern traditions of physical theater training.

The thing is that only when we connect our characters to something so primordially ours — we finally create authentic work. We will practice various techniques that help us find characters and idiosyncrasies hidden in our bodies and subconsciousness. A blend of approaches from Japanese Butoh, physical comedy, clowning and Action Theater.
