The Simpsons, the beloved cartoon family satirizing white middle class American life, was once thought too big to fail. With each passing decade on the air, their relevance has slowly receded. Their irreverence has just become another subsidiary of the monopolistic Disney corporation, the enormous backlog of episodes mainly used to prop up yet another streaming site that is slowly contributing to the death of the entire entertainment industry. We need to bail the Simpsons out if there’s going to be any future worth making fun of.
