Shipping: A Musical

Shipping is a totally historically accurate musical set on Nantucket in the 1840s, back when the whole island was run by Quakers obsessed with killing whales.

With a book by Jen Jackson (Animal Control, Miracle Workers) and Louisa Kellogg (The Onion, Crank Yankers) and music by Brian Heveron-Smith (Fanny, Chris Fleming: Hell), Shipping is a story about inter-species friendship, following your dreams, and fucking over everyone you’ve ever met in the process. It’s also about being in the ocean’s hottest all-whale girl group. It’s even kind of about the horniness of 1800s women and the difficulties of modern male friendship. It’s an hour-long musical featuring LA’s sandiest freaks and it’s gonna be fun!
