Did You Mean Engine? (Spaghetti Festival)

SPAGHETTI FESTIVAL: 10 NIGHTS OF 10 WILD NEW SHOWS! SEE WHAT STICKS!

Negine Sekandari does an hour about growing up Muslim, Afghan, and a woman...a darling combination that has led to absolutely no struggles w/ mental illness or troubles!

Written and Performed by Negine Sekandari

Directed by Alyssa Stonoha

Negine Jasmine Sekandari is a filmmaker, photographer, and writer based in Los Angeles. Her ancestral roots in Afghanistan inspire her work as a storyteller to integrate themes of humor, community, beauty, and romanticism into the work she creates. Recently, she’s been flirting more and more with the world of acting and comedy. She follows the idea of Abbas Kiarostami, who described art-making as a responsibility, as analyzing individual human experience, and as a way to find oneself within that subjectivity.

This show is part of The Elysian's second annual SPAGHETTI FESTIVAL from November 1st to 11th.
